TEHRAN – The director of the International Cooperation Department at China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation (CPCIF) said that China will continue importing Iranian oil despite U.S. sanctions, IRNA reported on Monday.

In an interview with IRNA, the director stressed the importance of Iranian oil in the region saying that Chinese market and many other markets in Asia are heavily dependent on Iranian oil and China will continue importing Iranian crude under any circumstances.

“Chinese companies need the Iranian oil and will continue to buy it under any circumstances”, he said.

He further noted that the U.S. policies toward Iran will not have any effect on China’s economic ties with Iran and China will continue trade with the Islamic country.
